The means of structural and technical fire protection are an issue of continual controversy because either the approaches assume different starting points, or background information for alternative approaches is unknown. The technical systems for detection of fire and the technical solutions to save life or property, have influence on each other in their effect. This standard describes integral solutions in an understandable manner and points out the limitations of various individual solutions. Examples and tables illustrate the various interactions between the individual trades, thereby increasing the understanding of integral fire protection. The standard describes the typical operational systems running on the brand and interactions with other systems.
