The document is the drawing up of basic functions for technical safety installations among themselves and also for connection to management systems. These functions should be available to a management system via a communication interface. Rather than describing any new communication protocols, this guideline guarantees the meaning ful use and publication of existing protocols. It is intended to support designers, manufacturers, assemblers and operators, eyplain terminology and lay down conditions for the desired overall function of technical safety installations.
