This standard relates to the pushing of coke from horizontal chamber ovens into quenching or container cars. The described techniques in the standard for reduction of emissions as well as to determine the emissions do not longer reflect the state of the art. These processes are not applied any more in Germany. The standard serves nevertheless as a source of information applicable for plants in operation with locations outside of Germany. Referring to the afore mentioned reasons, the standard VDI 3463 is not initially withdrawn.
