Abstract
The standard defines the requirements for the sampling strategy for asbestos determination which shall be applied to different measurement objectives. Different objectives for measurements are determination of the long-term asbestos fibre concentration (prevalent level sampling), determination of the short-term asbestos fibre concentration during normal usage before an activity (background sampling), determination of the impact on prevalent levels resulting from maintenance or renovation activities (event sampling), determination whether the building meets occupancy criteria (clearance sampling) or personal sampling. In case that the building shall not be occupied due to asbestos concentration the corrresponding simulation of the conditions of usage shall be performed, which are described in detail.
