Abstract
This standard describes stationary measurement methods for the characterization of thermoelectric modules (TEM) used for the conversion of heat into electrical energy. It defines the structure, the scope, and the basic metrological approach of the series of standards VDI 2018. Furthermore, it defines the covered designs of TEM as well as the terminology of the standard in the context of the design and characterization of TEM. The standard addresses the petroleum industry, manufacturers and operators of pipelines, manufacturers and operators of combined heat and power plants and fuel cells, manufacturers and operators of thermogenerators.
