Abstract
The guideline deals with the rope technology terms, the most useful kind of ropes, the rope choice, application and calculation of ropes as weil as their behaviour in test and practical use. Further the discard state caused by broken wires, wear, corrosion and other rope damages will be considered. Also attention will give to the most important standards and safety regulations.
