Abstract
For maintenance, modifications and modernisations on the steel structures of cranes welding is the most common procedure. The advantages of this joining process may also stand against significant disadvantages and also dangers which are often not known by the executing craftsmen. The standard gives recommendations for the maintenance of cranes and discusses durability, measures of maintenance, and defines requirements for non-destructive testing, screwed fastening and corrosion protection. Old crane systems are also considered. The standard is aimed at professionals who are charged with the planning, implementation, supervision and/or documentation of maintenance, modification and modernisation on steel structures of cranes.
