Just in time (JIT) and/or Just in Sequence (JIS) tries to avoid buffers and storages and to thus bring the turn-around time if possible close to the production time. Strictly speaking JIT/JIS production is a vote and/or a harmonization of the manufacturing capacity with the supplier on the manufacturing capacity with the smallest temporary buffers with the customer.
