Abstract
Using a consistent terminology is very important regarding the implementation of the BIM method. This applies to building information modeling (BIM) in particular, as this topic is strongly influenced internationally and is shaped by many building disciplines. This standard explains and regulates terms in the application of the BIM methodology between those involved in the design, construction, and operation of buildings. This standard has avoided defining terms that have already been defined elsewhere. Terms in English were not translated into the German language, since these terms are already established.
