Abstract
In today’s and tomorrow’s industries, maintenance not only represents a cost block per se, but is an essential component for achieving maximum productivity and availability. Therefore, in the future, time and cost management must already start with the planning and continue over the entire useful life of a means of production. This must meet the future requirements of Industry 4.0 in terms of precision and speed. The standard defines relevant data as well as data collection for maintenance. This is an essential aid for the calculation of maintenance costs considering the chosen maintenance strategy over the entire lifetime of a production equipment.
