The standard VDI 3035 Part 1 offers valuable advice for designers, purchasers and users of machine tools, as well as coolant manufacturers with regard to plant design and material selection. The series of standards VDI 3035 is currently the only official standard for the above subject. The topic of material selection has come to the fore in recent years. Therefore, new findings are incorporated into the standard. It can be assumed that in the next few years a further increase in knowledge will quickly redefine the state of the art, which is why the topic of material compatibility when using machining media has been separated into this standard VDI 3035 Part 2. The state of the art for the topic of energy efficiency is now contained in standard VDI 3035 Part 1.
