Mechanically joined fasteners are nuts or bolts with or without threads, which are also referred to as functional elements or press-in elements. This standard supports planning the integration of bolt and nut elements in automated processing in a press tool and thus enables important boundary conditions to be taken into account in the early phase of tool design in order to avoid time-consuming and cost-intensive iteration loops.The standard applies to developers, designers, production planners, toolmakers, operators and pressworkers when functional elements are fed and processed in a fully automated way in parallel to the sheet metal component production in the presswork.
