Abstract
Published material parameters for components or test specimens using the additive manufacturing process "powder bed fusion of metals using a laser beam" (PBF-LB/M), are only comparable to a limited extent, as there are currently no specifications for carrying out the associated measurements that apply to all suppliers. The standard creates the prerequisites for making the derivation and reporting of material parameters of an AM machine uniform and transparent. It specifies basic procedures and characteristics for the material data sheet. The standard is aimed at equipment manufacturers for PBF-LB/M, powder manufacturers, service providers, and users of correspondingly manufactured components.
