Abstract
Knowledge of climate indicators is becoming increasingly important, particularly against the current context of global climate change and its regional characteristics. Climate indicators include measures of descriptive statistics, parameters of time series analyses as well as climatic knowledge, characteristic values, and index values. The standard describes the calculation of climate indicators and provides approaches for their interpretation for selected applications. This ensures the appropriate application of climate indicators and a standardised assessment of meteorological and climatic issues.The standard is aimed at users of meteorological and climatic data; for all areas of applied meteorology, applied climatology, and in technical disciplines.
