Abstract
This standard provides information to help explain the causes of failure in the field of hot dip galvanising. With regard to quality assurance measures in the manufacturing chain, from the technical designer to the galvaniser, the standard may also help to prevent costly and the occurrence of sometimes dangerous errors. Among others, the standard describes the liquid metal induced cracking mechanism, process variables, the sphere of influence of construction and galvanising plant, and exemplary damages and consequential damages. Support and guidance on dealing with actual examples of failure can be found.
