Through product qualification, the influences of particulate materials on the service life and functionality of products are determined and the changes in these characteristics are qualified. In this standard the properties of quartz dusts and quartz particles and their effects on technical products are determined and described under consideration of chemical, mineralogical and physical aspects. Furthermore, the effects of quartz dusts and particles on human health and occupational safety are described. The standard is intended for test laboratories, test equipment manufacturers, developers, designers, quality assurance and safety departments (health, safety and environment).
