The user can use this standard to record and evaluate the state and development potential of his company with regard to safety and health at work. The standard supports companies through a self-assessment to create a suitable company organisation in order to systematically develop and improve conducive working conditions. The degree of maturity of the company’s organisation and management enables a company to create and maintain good working conditions and thus to ensure the company’s success. A company is characterised by certain success factors that lead to good results. Accordingly, the scope of this standard is also related to the organisation and management for planning and implementing occupational safety and health measures and the associated continuous improvement process. For the structured development of concrete optimisation measures, this standard also presents the balanced scorecard as a management method that can be applied by companies of any size.
