The guideline offers to external training providers educating "Competent Persons for mobile elevation work platforms" important examination topics in accordance with the German Occupational Safety Ordinance. This guideline does not cover any tests of permanent elevation equipment for personnel transport on fixed levels, firefighting and rescue device, specified work baskets attached to hydraulic lifts, hoisting operating stands at shelf control units, liftgates (tailboards), bar climbing stages, fair equipment, piston stroke tables with a lifting height less than 2 m, builders' hoists for transport of personnel and material, aeronautics ground equipment and mobile working places at fork lift trucks. This guideline puts the general statements of the described working equipment of VDI 4068 Part 1 into precise terms.
