Abstract
This standard defines the specific requirements for the realisation of a digital interface based on Open Platform Communications (OPC). It is based on the OPC specifications and concretises the general minimum requirements for digital interfaces for data exchange between automatic measuring systems (AMS) and data acquisition and evaluation systems (DAHS) for monitoring emissions specified in the standard VDI 4201 Part 1. The requirements of this standard, together with the requirements of VDI 4201 Part 1, serve as an assessment standard for suitability tests of AMS and DAHS equipped with digital interfaces based on OPC. Together with VDI 4201 Part 1, this standard fulfils the requirements of the series of standards DIN EN 17255, DIN EN 15267-3 and the uniform practice in monitoring emissions (Bundeseinheitliche Praxis bei der Überwachung der Emissionen - BEP) with regard to the complete description of a digital interface in the body of standards and guidelines.This standard may only be used in conjunction with VDI 4201 Part 1.
