Abstract
During the conveyance of bulk materials, a number of components are subjected to abrasive wear, which occurs in the contact area between the component and the bulk material to be conveyed. During the conveyance, the wear stock of the component is thereby continuously consumed. The operating time from the installation of the component to the wear limit is referred to as the service life. In order to increase the service life, these components are frequently coated with a metallic wear protection or completely made of a wear-resistant material. The standard describes a test method for the comparative evaluation of metallic wear protection materials.
