Abstract
The standard supports the selection and realisation of system architecture concepts for the digital factory and discusses technical and organisational data management aspects. The standard thereby describes in detail statements relating to data management and system architecture made in VDI 4499 Part 1. To protect the neutrality of the standard, software products will not be referred. With inter-branch recommendations this standard is aimed at project managers, decision-makers, users, administrators as well as providers and developers of software tools who are tasked with enterprise-specific conceptions, rollouts and implementations of methods and tools of the digital factory.
