Abstract
The majority of chemical products and fuels that will continue to be required in the future contain carbon. The planned replacement of fossil raw material flows for energy and materials requires additional sources of carbon. In addition to biomass, for example, CO2 is one such source. The standard describes the state of the art for the extraction of CO2 from exhaust air streams of different industrial processes as well as from ambient air. These so-called CO2 source gases are discussed with regard to their potential for CO2 supply. Different capture processes are presented and compared with regard to their field of application. The standard also describes the state of the art in the storage and transport of CO2.
