Abstract
Sustainable management in hospitals, as in other companies, refers to the aspects of economy, ecology and social affairs. In contrast to the manufacturing industry or to services of other areas, the focus here is on medical care. Sustainable business can increase the satisfaction of employees and patients and save long-term operating costs. The standard gives a modular and user-oriented overview of the sustainability in the construction and operation of hospitals, describes them in terms of content and provides suggestions for possible fields of action.
