Abstract
Extreme heat events can pose a considerable health risk to the population as a whole. As there are currently no legal or technical regulations in Germany for corresponding health-related heat protection or heat prevention, harmonised heat action planning in the sense of standardisation is advisable and helpful. This expert recommendation serves as a normative recommendation for action for local authorities and helps to protect human health from and during heat. The expert recommendation is aimed at all local authorities (independent and district municipalities/cities), including supra-local district tasks, e. g. in the health and fire services and disaster control.
