The VDI Expert Recommendation provides information on the fireproof design of garages and open parking areas without buildings, with a special focus on cars. The recommendations apply to new buildings; for existing buildings, information on adaptation is provided. This VDI Expert Recommendation can be used as a basis for decisions by approval authorities and fire protection departments in accordance with state regulations. The same applies to the parking and charging of e-scooters, e-bikes and e-cargo bikes, etc. It applies to private, company and public parking and charging facilities. This VDI Expert Recommendation is aimed at planning and executing companies, car park operators, property managers, fire brigades, cities and municipalities, as well as building owners in general.
