Abstract
This standard was developed as a revision and expansion of the previous VDI/VDE 2613. The reason for this was the adaptation to current standards, in particular DIN ISO 1328-1, VDI/VDE 2612 Parts 1 and 6, as well as ISO/TR 10064-1. The scope now generally covers geared components - in addition to cylindrical gears with involute profiles, this includes worm gears, bevel gears, cylindrical worms, and racks. A new addition is the detailed description of measuring tools and measuring devices, including non-contact probe systems. The topics of calibration, monitoring, and device selection are additionally addressed in VDI/VDE 2612 Part 6.
