This standard describes procedures and test equipment for the regular intermediate inspection of coordinate measuring systems (CMMS) in use. These procedures are equally suitable as a basis for an internal company inspection as well as for an intermediate inspection of coordinate measuring systems required by public or private clients. The standard only applies to coordinate measuring systems for tactile measurement. The intermediate inspection only refers to the coordinate measuring systems, not to additional devices. The standard is primarily intended for users of coordinate measuring machines.
