The standard describes procedures for design/type testing, original/receiving inspections as well as monitoring inspections of mechanical dial gauges. The necessary work procedures for the respective examinations are described in the form of directly applicable work instructions. Apart from the calibration, also the preparatory work for the calibration unit as well as for the inspection items is described. Furthermore, help is given for the evaluation and the documentation of the calibration. The standard is valid in conjunction with VDI/VDE/DGQ 2618 Part 1.1 and Part 1.2. In addition to adaptations to the current normative requirements, the example of a measurement uncertainty budget is listed in the Annex of the new issue.
