This standard provides guidance on emission control measures for facilities treating mixed waste from the residential recyclables collection scheme, including lightweight packaging and the same material non-packaging, glass, paper and cardboard packing) and of mixed commercial waste. The standard applies to facilities undertaking sorting, interim storage, and transfer of the above waste types. The overall treatment process in terms of this standard comprises delivery and storage of the input materials, processing including size reduction, size separation/classification, and sorting, as well as conveyance and storage of the sorting products and the necessary transports.
