This standard applies to the refurbishment of existing heating installations so as to enable their operation in accordance with current regulations (such as the Energy Saving Ordinance - EnEV) and economic efficiency. It applies to installations for the generation of space heating and potable-water heating. The standard describes the inventory taking, planning, methods, actions to be taken and quality management as well as the actual process of upgrading or deconstruction.
