The standard briefly describes the technology of powder coating of wood-based materials and solid wood and the necessary upstream and downstream technological processes. Minimum requirements for the technological steps are defined. Due to the special characteristics of the powder coating and the coated materials - currently mainly MDF (medium-density fibreboard) - the testing of the surfaces must be carried out differently from other industries. The necessary tests to determine the quality of the powder-coated component are defined in this standard and where necessary also specifically defined for this application. On the basis of this standard, a certification of the processes and the generated surfaces should be possible.
