The series of standards under the generic number VDI 6000 describes the determination of the demand in terms of the number of sanitary objects and the furnishing of sanitary rooms for general or specific modes of use. This standard deals with generic and fundamental aspects. Specific aspects of sanitary rooms for special uses will be laid down in further parts in the series of standards. In the course of the current revision of the series of standards the basic structure of the standards was adapted to result in a clearer structure free of reiterations. This Draft VDI Standard, while, according to the opinion of the committee members, being in conformance with the previous edition, is drafted according to the new approach.
