This standard describes the principles and defines the terms necessary for the use of machine vision systems (MV systems). It regulates a consistent terminology also in an extra-company environment. Thereto commonly used concepts are also included. Consequently, this standard is the basis for all other parts of the series of standards VDI/VDE/VDMA 2632.
