The standard offers assistance in determining as comprehensively as possible the costs by environmental protection measures. These may be measures that have already been implemented or have been planned. The regulations outlined in the standard can be applied to companies as well as to subordinate organizational units, e. g. plants and factories. The standard is addressed to plant operators, plant constructors, engineering offices, occupational health and safety, public authorities, other non-governmental organisations, consumer protection, associations, science and research.
